Our Nursing Assistant Training (NAT) program comprises a total of 102 hours. This time is efficiently spread over six-hour days, four days a week, translating to 24 hours each week. Completing the course requires a commitment of approximately four weeks. Please note that the program also includes CPR certification. Occasionally, we utilize Saturdays to accommodate additional training needs.
We finalize the schedule for class days during our first meeting, which serves as the orientation. We ensure that classes do not coincide with public holidays for your convenience. It's crucial to maintain regular attendance throughout the course; however, we do allow for a maximum of two absences, which must be compensated for later. Regular participation ensures a smooth learning experience and better grasp of the course material.
Yes. Both our theory and lab classes are hosted at Hope Academy, which is housed in the former JFK Elementary building. You can find us at 27225 West Outer Drive, Ecorse, Michigan, 48229. We're conveniently located adjacent to Ecorse Community High School.
For the hands-on clinical component of the course, we have partnered with a range of health care institutions in our local community. You will have the opportunity to gain practical experience at various hospitals, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities located in cities such as Livonia, Wyandotte, or Southgate, MI. These experiences will provide an enriching learning environment that combines theory with practice.
Upon successful completion of our course, participants will qualify as Nurse Aides, making them eligible for employment in certain healthcare settings. However, it's worth noting that many employers prefer their Nurse Aides to be certified. Achieving this certification involves applying with D&S Michigan Nurse Aide Headmaster and passing both a written examination and a clinical skills test, which leads to the official title of Certified Nurse Aide (CNA).
To discuss the program's cost, please don't hesitate to reach out to us via phone or email. We're proud to offer a variety of payment options to make this process as convenient as possible. This includes sponsorships, employer tuition coverage, and an easy-to-manage out-of-pocket payment plan. Our goal is to make this valuable training accessible to as many individuals as possible.
